Profile and History

By the late 1970s W H Kirkwood Ltd were responsible for many of the quality housing projects in the west end of Greenock. Since then we have grown into one of the most respected building companies in central Scotland having achieved this by identifying the need to rise to the challenges of our ever changing market and by directing all our efforts towards achieving 100% client satisfaction.

W H Kirkwood Ltd continued to evolve with emphasis placed on building and public works while extending operations throughout Central Scotland.

From our modern head office and workshop in Greenock, we employ a skilled workforce of management, executives, engineers, surveyors and construction personnel. Our skills and workmanship are reflected by our membership of diverse trade organisations and the exacting standard of work carried out by our teams of bricklayers, carpenters, joiners, plasterers, slaters and plumbers is testimony to our commitment.

Health and Safety is of course paramount. We work hand in glove with our health and safety management advisors recognising the Construction, Design and Management Regulations.

Just as W H Kirkwood Ltd has grown, so too has the breadth of our business. It is fair to say that no job is too small and indeed few are too big. We do however divide our expertise into three categories — General Contracting which includes design and building partnership agreements, Small Work Contracting, Term Contracting and Management Contracting.
